GE announces largest U.S. solar panel manufacturing plant
As part of a $600 million solar technology investment, GE will be building the largest photovoltaic panel factory in the U.S. The factory will manufacture GE's new thin film solar panels made from cadmium telluride, which are attractive because of their lower cost to manufacture than traditional PV panels. The new factory will employ 400 workers and will produce enough panels to generate 400 MW per year. The location of the new facility has not yet been announced.
